Reve had been born in a war. A war he was designed to win. A Cyborg. Half man, half machine. Created, bigger, stronger, faster than humans. One of many brothers born to fight for Earth Corp.

It had taken generations of death and injury but at last, they had been finally free. Free to live their own lives. Free to make their own choices. Free to be an Empire. An Empire that searched for their own throughout the known and unknown universe.

Promoted to Commander and Councilman, he followed orders. Trained for every art of war there was, he was the perfect machine. He could kill or seduce in moments. Give pain or pleasure in equal measure. Whatever you desired, he could deliver, and he was very, very good at it.

Brenna Colman pulled the gloves from her hands and cleaned up. She spent her day's putting people back together. Her Saturn 2 outpost was dying. Over population and the terraforming failing only added to their problems. They needed help and soon. New blood, fighters to help them survive.

Earth Corp were not coming back, and they were under attack. Bren strapped her weapons back on. Her people thought her hard and emotionless. The young fun-loving woman who had once been passionate and strong was gone, along with her husband and child.

She didn't need passionate. She needed to make sure they survived.

When the communication finally came that would change all their lives, shocked to her core, she looked upon a face she knew. Someone she’d never expected to see again in her wildest dreams. Robert…. Only it wasn’t her husband. He had been a life saver, gentle and kind. This one, was hard and driven. A life taker.....

Emotions she'd long buried surfaced, feelings she'd shut down came storming back. Her body shivered as unexpected desire flooded her.

  That …..just wasn’t possible…

  A word from the Author.

Hello, I'm Jessie and I thank you for buying this book! I know you did not have to.

There are so many choices out there. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that someone else will enjoy one of my stories. And for me, it's about telling a story that I'd like to read myself.

I am not caught up in POV or literacy genius. It's simply not me or my style and I will never be that person, so I apologize to all those who are focused on the POV and the genius of literacy. I envy those that are.

On the days where my pain and meds stop my thinking processes, writing these books have been my lifeline. It reminds me that I still have the ability to rise to the challenge and that I refuse to go quietly into the night.

But, I'm a person just like you, who wants to bring some passion into my life and now, hopefully yours. Put a good story out there that's hard to put down, that brings some escapism, sexy fun and pleasure into our reading. We all love a bit of that!

And, I hope I achieve that for you in this book. I sincerely hope you enjoy it so much that you want to look out for the next in the series. (Coming soon) And if I'm lucky, you will have had such a good time, you'll recommend it to your friends and I thank you kindly.

My very best wishes to you and yours. Jessie x

Galactic Cyborg Heat Series Book 16 REVE.

  Chapter One

Reve, walked onto the Bridge and took his seat at the helm. As he did, he registered the emotion of pleasure on his optic display. It was as natural to see, as his breathing pattern. Cyborgs recorded everything. The pleasure of seeing his people as they should be. Free and searching the stars to find those lost. Human and Cyborg, it mattered not. They’d been made for war and now used it to their advantage. His people were no wilting flowers. Born stronger, faster, bigger than a human male, they took up a lot of room and his Bridge had plenty to offer. He was Captain and Commander to the Cyborg Empire and he knew his duty.

Earning his Commission under the Admiral, all his crew were handpicked. Many had fought with him for decades. Been with him since before their freedom. Friends, brothers in arms, as well as colleagues. His ship carried 343 Cyborgs, all top of their game. He knew them all intimately. Sharing a neuro net kinda did that, unless it was turned off. They could do that too. Privacy, was a new concept they were getting used to. Not until the Admiral found his Kim, had there been a need for it. They had shared everything. They had no privacy. It was how they were. Something different had been
a revelation and a wakeup call. They had choices. The Admiral clear, they made their own futures now. Not the Designers. And his mission, search the universe for their lost brothers. Search for those lost to space and time and protect the Empire.

There were other Cyborgs out there. Alone, lost or damaged. Those who did not know they were an Empire. That they had futures that had once been denied to them. But he would make sure they did.

And once he’d found them, he would bring justice with him. Those who had caused injury or abuses would be judged by Intergalactic Law and punished. No Cyborg would be left behind ever again. There would be no more lost. No more stolen. No more sold or bartered. A new day had dawned, they were coming, and the Cyborg Empire was here to stay.

Connecting his neuro net to the Bridge crew and his helmsman. He pressed for communication over their link. There was no need to verbalise. That gave them away in war, so the Designers made sure they did not have to speak. Reve reflected, they were lucky to still have tongues. Do we have the trajectory of the unknown planet? he asked.

  Yes sir. Course laid in.

Reve sat back in his seat and smiled. Then we should go say hello. He felt the other members of the Bridge smile and agree with him in his mind’s eye. They were all connected now.

His crew was luckier than most. 97% Still had the use of their neuro nets. Being half man, half machine had its benefits. It helped them survive what a human male couldn’t. They’d been designed for war. To be the best at what they did. Silent mercenary’s, that could see and hear further, could scent targets, read body language and movement, understand expressions and emotions and target weaknesses to attack. A soldier who knew their enemy before they engaged. It gave them one hell of an advantage and that was before a gun was triggered. And if infiltration and subterfuge was needed, a female operative to seduce, they were skilled in that too. Everything that made them better than their male human counterparts, and far more deadlier.

Trained exclusively for war. They had every advantage and because of their nano’s, they could heal themselves on the run and dying, didn’t always mean the end. Not for Cyborgs. They could be shut down and re-booted. The computer embedded in their brains allowed them to turn on and off their pain receptors when damaged or taken, and their emotions when needed. The data nodes logged all information shown to them and recorded everything. They never forgot a thing. It was all downloaded and stored for retrieval when needed. Trained in every skill to make war, they were the ultimate fighting machines. And they waged war for their owners Earth Corp for more than 50 years. Maybe longer with the older models but they were long gone now, or so it was thought. They were over 100 years in creation.

Once the public got wind of what Earth Corp were doing, got to know what lengths, Earth Corp had gone to to create them. The shit hit the fan big time.

They’d used prisoners and criminals, sometimes soldiers and staff that had ‘upset’ them and made sure they took part in the trials or were drugged and held down while they unwillingly did, or imprisoned them and did what they wanted. For decades, clandestine doctors worked on eggs and fertilisation for several of the early generations of Cyborgs, before the first solider satisfied them and they were allowed to live. Earth Corp experimented. Used people. All in the pursuit of the ultimate solider and when that wasn’t enough, they added Cybernetics and nano’s to fix their damage to prolong their product longevity, and when that wasn’t enough they looked for more aggressive species’ to splice into their DNA mix. Animal DNA.

It wasn’t predominant in most of them, but it was there. More in some than others. When triggered, it brought a whole new level to their fighting. They all knew it. The edge it gave was difficult to control. The rage, could spiral out of control and so could their emotions. Afterall, it was what their Admiral, their Head of State, had taken as his name. Rage. It was very apt.

In times of war, it was useful. In peacetime, not so much. And it was something they were learning to live with. There’d been other complications too, since the Admiral had met his Kim. With the opening of emotions to females, they now knew that supressed emotions led to Cyborgs being unstable. Scenting a female on a DNA level, could lead to imprinting. Imprinting could lead to bonding. Bonding, to a mate.

Something they had not considered possible in their life span before the Admiral had met his Kim. It opened a whole new world of possibilities. A mate. A future. Family. A female specifically matched to their DNA that was still, the preverbal needle in the universal haystack. But it had to be handled carefully. Slowly. Mistakes could be costly. A Cyborg imprinted and not bonded with the female, would deteriorate and stop functioning. His overriding need to be with her, taking over his will to live. Basically, pining away for what he could not have. Caution where females were concerned, was strongly advised.

And after years of war, fighting, being damaged, replaced, regrown and sent out again, to then find they could be free, free to choose, hadn’t come without its own cost. They’d had to fight for their freedom and for their Empire. And suddenly had more than just surviving. In all the universe, they had genetic compatible matches. Females that their nano’s recognised on a DNA level as a possible mate. If they came across her, if she were of adult age and unmated with no male scent or contract, and if he could find her. Once triggered, she was it for him. If she were already taken or rejected the bond, the Cyborg could move on, if his bonding scent had not been triggered, in the hope of finding another.

In another place, on another world, there would be another matches. The Corporations had seeded the universe in their greed. Now, it formed the basis of new life, new chances. If, he could find her. The odds on finding her were so small, it was illogical to pursue it. So they didn’t. They had time on their side and just doing their job had brought many mates to the Empire. Cyborgs didn’t age like humans. They’re aging stopped as the Designers had made them. They might look in their 20s or 30s or 40s, but their actual age was anywhere between 70 and 90. Some early ones, would be much older but their tech was less advanced and likely faulty, so no one held out much hope of finding them now.

Reve looked around the Bridge at his men. Yes, they’d been lucky. They’d survived, so many hadn’t. His emotions spiked, and he purged it from his system. It was a useless emotion he did not need. They’d been sent to worlds in dispute, ordered to bring order to chaos, unable to say no and to take any order given, they did. Placed in danger over and over again, many had lost limbs to have them regrown, or died and been revived, or shut down and crated for spare parts. There was nothing pretty in their world. And when they were not needed to fight, they were bartered or sold to the highest bidder. No voice, no choice, no freedom. Until they’d found out exactly what was going on and demanded their freedom just as the public did. Then went to war with Earth Corp to get it.

Shareholders didn’t like that. Prices fell when people realised what Earth Corp had been up to and in a knee jerk reaction, Earth Corp stated publicly, it had all been a terrible mistake. Sighting a scapegoat to take the fall and that they would make amends. Would free them all and pay damages. There was little said about their origins and people were naturally afraid to ask. So Earth Corp did what they always did, they lied and made a bit of a show freeing some. And thousands of others, were sold off quickly to the highest bidder or left on other worlds as too expensive to retrieve. A multi-billion-credit industry many times over and they left Cyborgs to die. It was easier to cut their losses than answer more questions they didn’t want asked. Reve shook his head in disgust.

Now they roamed the universe looking for those left on those worlds. First with the ships taken from Earth Corp and later, taking ships from those who’d tried to take them. Building a fleet of their own. Looking for others of their kind and a place to call home.

The chance encounter with the Admiral’s Kim, had them going back to a Space Station they’d used a number of times before to refuel. They’d liked it. It was a good place in a newer part of Space. Or had
been. Finding it under attack by pirates, they’d done what they needed to. Infiltrated and dealt with them, then claimed it, under Salvage Law. It was in no state to be left alone. The place had been decimated. Earth Corp weren’t too happy about that. Turned out it was theirs. Just another group of people left high and dry to die out or get on with it. Cyborgs had thought they were alone in their treatment at the hands of Earth Corp. Turned out, they did it to their own too. It hadn’t been unexpected. Logic dictated that if a company did it once, they’d do it over and over again. They had. Humans had been left in a hostile parts of Space, with no resources or back up. As long as Earth Corp got their money or resources from the Space Station no one bothered them, until the money or resources stopped. Then they started asking questions. Far too late.

Losing a Space Station had been bad for business and Earth Corp didn’t sit back and wait for the legal system to sort it out. They went through the procedure alright but made contacted one of several seeded worlds they had engineered and kept secret. And gave them new orders, find a virus to take out the Cyborgs, and by all accounts it was going well, until someone triggered a series of events that created a bomb and the virus got free, killing the world. Now Earth Corp were facing charges for genocide and attempted murder of several another races. They just couldn’t get a break! Reve sneered.
